Holder’s DOJ Halts Florida Effort to Remove Ineligible Voters from Rolls – Obama Can’t Win Florida w/o Voter Fraud!

Via Fox News
Kasey’s Note:  The hypocrisy of the left is astounding.  Democrats say Requiring Photo ID is Voter Suppression; yet For Massachusetts Democrats….No Entry to Convention Without Photo ID. Even better - Unions Also Require Photo ID to Vote.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla –  Federal authorities  are demanding that Florida halt its push to remove ineligible voters from the  voter rolls.

In a move that comes just months before the state could play a pivotal role  in the 2012 presidential election, the U.S. Department of Justice contends that  the state is violating federal law in its effort to identify and remove  ineligible voters.

The state’s effort has already come under fire from local election  supervisors who belong to both political parties, as well as Democratic members  of Congress and voting rights groups.

Chris Cate, a spokesman for the Florida Department of State, said state  officials were still reviewing the letter, but hinted Florida may fight federal  authorities.

“Bottom line is we are firmly committed to doing the right thing and  preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot,” Cate said.

Florida, at the urging of Republican Gov. Rick Scott, began looking for  non-U.S. citizens on its voter rolls last year. An initial search turned up as  many as 182,000 registered voters who may not be U.S. citizens.

Earlier this year state officials sent to local election officials a much  smaller list of more than 2,600 voters and asked supervisors to start the  process to remove them from the rolls.

Supervisors, however, have loudly questioned the accuracy of the list, with  one GOP supervisor going on Twitter to show the picture of a U.S. passport of  one voter found on the list. Earlier this week two Democratic members of  Congress held a press conference with a World War II veteran whose citizenship  had been questioned.

Federal officials said that the procedures the state is using to identify  non-U.S. citizens has not been reviewed to make sure they are not  discriminatory. Florida must get approval for changes in voting procedures  because five counties are still covered by the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

T. Christian Herren, chief of the voting section of the civil rights  division, also said that removing voters from the rolls less than 90 days before  a federal election also appears to violate federal law. Florida’s primary  election is Aug. 14.

Herren’s letter gives Florida until June 6 to tell federal authorities  whether they plan to halt the purge.

Voting rights groups who had called on the U.S. Department of Justice to  intervene praised the decision.

“We commend the attorney general of the United States Eric Holder for  ensuring that the right to vote, the fundamental pillar of our democracy is  protected for all American citizens,” said Advancement Project co-director Penda  Hair in a statement.

The intervention of the U.S. Department of Justice came the same day that  Florida officials were trying to get another federal agency to help the state  verify the citizenship status of thousands of voters.

Secretary of State Kent Detzner wants the U.S. Department of Homeland  Security to let Florida have access to an immigration database maintained by the  federal government.

“I hope you will understand the importance of making sure the vote of an  eligible voter is not diminished by the vote of ineligible voter and provide my  department the access it needs,” Detzner wrote to Secretary Janet  Napolitano.

A Department of Homeland Security official said Thursday that the federal  agency is aware of Florida’s request but that there a “number of legal and  operational challenges” to granting the state access.

Detzner in his letter said that while Florida’s initial list was “credible  and reliable” he acknowledged that his department’s ability to “validate a  person’s legal status as up to date was limited.” The first list was drawn by  comparing driver’s licenses to voter registration lists. The Department of  Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles initially planned to double-check its  information with the federal database but has since been told that is not  permitted.

Even without access to the federal database Cate had said the state is likely  to circulate additional names to election supervisors in the weeks ahead.

But some election supervisors are already saying that they will ignore any  additional names given to them by the Florida Department of State.

“It’s illegal under federal law and I’m going to follow the law,” said Leon  County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho.

Obama and Putin Lining Up to Take Over Syria’s WMDs?

Via DEBKAfile

US President Barack Obama, though widely expected to pursue direct action against Syrian ruler Bashar following the Houla atrocity, is preoccupied with what he regards as a greater threat to the world: a potential grab for the huge Syrian stock of chemical and biological weapons by Al Qaeda’s or other terrorist organizations. This is reported exclusively by debkafile’s Washington and intelligence sources.

The US president is trying to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept his new plan for the immediate assignment by the UN Security Council of 3,000 armed monitors to Syria to take charge of the six chemical and biological stores. Another 2,000 will join the team later. To allay Putin’s suspicions of a trick to insert Western armed forces into Syria against Moscow’s will, Obama suggested that most of the monitors would be Russian or nationals of governments lining up with its support of the Assad regime. Our sources learn that, in one of the conversations between the two presidents, Obama commented: “If only one barrel of anthrax reaches the hands of a Caucasian terrorist group, Russian will face its greatest terrorist threat in its history. Millions of Russians may perish.”

It was clear from this comment that Assad’s WMD are not stored as warheads, bombs or shells but kept in large barrels or kegs in six underground bunkers, holding Sarin (GB), Tabun (GA) and VX nerve gases, some four kinds of mustard gas and anthrax. The storage silos are spread out among Al Safir, the main Syrian missile base in the north; Cerin, a biological research center on the Mediterranean shore; military facilities at Hama and Homs; the Syrian naval base leased to the Russians at Latakia;  and Palmyra, on the highway between Homs and Aleppo.

According to the information reaching US intelligence, three of these locations are situated in heavily embattled areas between the Syrian army and rebels, in addition to which, in the last two weeks, al Qaeda elements have penetrated the war-torn districts with a view to seizing some of the WMD stores. Obama warned Putin that the jihadists have never been so close to getting hold of large quantities of such deadly unconventional weapons, especially now that the Syrian army’s 4th Division, commanded by Assad’s brother Maher, which guards those stores, is additionally assigned with suppressing the revolt and therefore inadequately manned for securing them.

If the Russian President buys his plan for 5,000 international monitors to take over the security assignment, Obama hopes he will also persuade Assad and even Tehran to accept it. Early Thursday, May 31, the US president held a video-conference call on the subject with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, to brief them on his initiative and his talks with Putin.

debkafile’s sources in Washington and Jerusalem add that Obama also sent personal messages to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak warning them that if al Qaeda or any other terrorist groups get hold of these weapons of death, they could be smuggled into the West Bank and Gaza Strip. “Israel would be their number one target,” he said. These messages were relayed to Israeli leaders this week through visiting senior US intelligence and government figures, with the president’s assessment that the danger of Syrian WMD falling into terrorist hands was now more acute than a nuclear Iran. It provided the context for the IDF’s OC Northern Command Maj. Gen. Yair Golan’s remark Wednesday: “Within weeks or months we may face al Qaeda attacks from Syria.”

The Russian president has not yet given Obama his answer, still suspecting an American ruse for placing Western troops inside Syria. Hence his spokesman’s statement Wednesday: “Russia is not considering changing its stance on Syria and any attempts to apply pressure on Moscow are hardly appropriate.”

Tehran, taking this to mean that Putin has not rejected Obama’s proposal, was put out enough for a forceful threat: “Western intervention in Syria would result in a regional upheaval that would undoubtedly engulf Israel,” said Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani. “It would spread to Palestine and ash rising from the flames would definitely engulf the Zionist regime…US military officials should be aware of their dangerous game.”

This was taken by sources in Washington as an Iranian threat to burn Israel if Obama’s plan to post 5,000 armed monitors in Syria goes through. Iranian sources told debkafile that the threat was aimed equally at deterring Putin from cooperating with it. Susan Rice, the US ambassador to the UN, capped these veiled messages by warning the UN Security Council Wednesday night: “This becomes a proxy conflict with arms flowing in from all sides. And members of this Council and members of the international community are left with the option only of having to consider whether they are prepared to take actions outside of the Annan plan and the authority of this Council.”

By these words, the White House informed the Kremlin that if President Putin rejects Obama’s plan for posting 5,000 monitors in Syria, Washington will feel free to bypass the UN and the Russian veto and launch US-Western armed action in Syria in defiance of Moscow.

Allen West: Syrian Intervention Could Trigger World War III

By Paul Scicchitano and Kathleen Walter via Newsmax

(Kasey’s Note: The Muslim Brotherhood is threatening to bring Sharia law to Egypt since we helped depose Mubarak, Libya is in chaos and facing rule by radical Muslims since the death of dictator Moammar Gadhafi, Iraq is home to jihadis and terrorists since we ousted Saddam Hussein, and Iran has been building nukes to kill us since the Ayatollah took power decades ago.  Our interventions seem to have done more harm than good and we need to learn from these past mistakes.  However, I will support Israel in whatever methods they choose!)

Amid pressure for the United States and other western countries to intervene in Syria’s bloody 14-month uprising, Florida Congressman and retired U.S. Army officer Allen West warns in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV that the troubled nation represents a smoldering powder keg that could trigger World War III.

International outrage over Syria has continued to mount since forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad were blamed for last week’s massacre in the town of Houla, which resulted in the deaths of 108 people, including many women, children, and families — most of whom had been shot at close range.

West said that Assad’s father, Hafez, who ruled the country for decades before his son took power in 2000 upon his death, had been blamed for a similar massacre in another Syrian town.

Watch our exclusive interview.

“That’s how they do business, and so if we’re going to go in there, we need to go in with very clear rules of engagement if we’re going to get Bashar al-Assad out of there,” warned West, who had been posted in several combat zones.

“But understand, you’ll be starting World War III.”

While diplomatic sanctions do not appear to be effective, there is also not a clear alternative to Assad’s government. The Syrian freedom fighters are widely considered by Middle East experts to be fractured and disorganized.

“On one side you have the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Russia and also Bashar al-Assad,” West explained. “On the other side, you have freedom fighters. You have al-Qaida and radical Islamists. And also you have the backing of the state of Turkey.”

He pointed to recent experiences with Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood, is now threatening to bring Sharia law to the country, and Libya, which has been plunged into chaos since the death of dictator Moammar Gadhafi late last year.

“If you start to interject yourself in a means other than diplomatic who’s side are you on? We don’t need to put our military in a situation where they’re caught in a cross-fire,” insisted West.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney favors arming the rebel forces while Arizona Sen. John McCain, the party’s 2008 nominee, would like the U.S. to conduct air strikes against Assad’s forces.

“I think that we should be listening to our greatest ally in the Middle East — Israel — as far as what are their concerns, and what would they like to see happen because they share that border with Syria,” said West.

While he does not favor military intervention in Syria — at least not for the time being — West said that time may be running out to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons in the region’s other hot spot.

“The longer we allow them to have time, it works on their side, not ours,” he explained. “They continue to go forward with their nuclear program. They continue to harden the facilities, which . . . can protect their nuclear program.”

The Congressman, who was elected in 2010, and is a member of the House Tea Party Caucus, said that the U.S. will be forced to act at some point to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

He criticizes President Obama’s handling of the Middle East.

“I know that he is very good with his little own personal target list, which reminds me of Lyndon Johnson approving bombing targets during the Vietnam War,” charged West. “That is not the business of the president. He is supposed to be more strategically minded.”

GOP Rep. Allen West: “Let’s Talk About The President Doing Blow”…

Via The Shark Tank

The progressives who attended Congressman Allen West’s town hall meeting managed to drop some choice questions on the good Congressman. One of the questions was about an alleged Article 15 hearing that he supposedly received in the Army-  never mind the fact that West never received an Article 15 hearing before leaving the Army- West left the military with full honors and his pension.

West took a bit of an issue with the question, and posed one of his own to his detractors:

“If you guys want to go back and talk about what happened nine years ago to me, lets talk about the President doing blow.”- Congressman Allen West

U.S. Bishops Prepare Catholics for Civil Disobedience: ‘We May Need to Witness to the Truth by Resisting the Law’

By Terence P.  Jeffrey via CNS News

(CNSNews.com) – Having organized 43 plaintiffs—including the archdioceses of New York  and Washington and the University of Notre Dame—to file 12 different  lawsuits against the Obama administration last Monday alleging the  administration is violating the religious freedom of Catholics, the  Catholic bishops of the United States are now preparing Catholics for  what may be the most massive campaign of civil disobedience in this  country since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and early 1960s.

“Some unjust laws impose such injustices on individuals and  organizations that disobeying the laws may be justified,” the bishops  state in a document developed to be inserted into church bulletins in  Catholic parishes around the country in June.

“Every effort must be made to repeal them,” the bishops say in the  document, which is already posted on the website of the U.S. Conference  of Catholic Bishops. “When fundamental human goods, such as the right of  conscience, are at stake, we may need to witness to the truth by  resisting the law and incurring its penalties.”

The bulletin insert reminds Catholic parishioners that the bishops  have called for “A Fortnight of Freedom”—which  they have described as “a special period of prayer, study, catechesis,  and public action”—to take place from June 21 to July 4.

The bishops  have noted that June 21, when this fortnight will begin, is the Vigil of the Feast of St. John Fisher and  St. Thomas More. Fisher was a Roman Catholic cardinal  whom the English monarch  Henry VIII beheaded in 1535 after he refused to act against his conscience and  take an oath asserting that Henry was the supreme authority over the  church in England. That same year, Henry VIII also beheaded Thomas More, his former  chancellor, for the same reason.

The sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate is set to go into effect for most health-care plans on Aug. 1, about four weeks after the bishops’ “Fortnight of Freedom.”

In campaign speeches delivered this week after the Catholic dioceses and organizations filed their 12 lawsuits, both President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama indicated that the administration intends to move forward and enforce the mandate.

Mrs. Obama  brought it up in a stump speech in Cleveland on Monday afternoon, less than three hours after the Catholic bishops had announced their lawsuits.

“You can tell people how, because we passed health reform, insurance  companies  will now have to cover preventive care–have to,” said Mrs. Obama.  “Things  like contraception,  cancer screenings, prenatal care–and they have  to do it at no extra cost.   People have to understand that’s what that  fight was for.”

President Obama signaled his personal commitment to enforcing the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate, using virtually identical language about it in back-to-back campaign speeches Wednesday and Thursday in California and Iowa.

“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to  choose, or  getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking  away affordable  birth control,” Obama said.  “We don’t need that. I  want women to control their  own health choices, just like I want my  daughters to have the same economic  opportunities as my sons.  We’re  not turning back the clock. We’re  not going back there.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

While detained, King, who was a Baptist minister, wrote his  “Letter from the Birmingham Jail,” in which he said the moral  justification for civil disobedience against Alabama’s segregation laws  was derived from the writings of the Roman Catholic saints Augustine and Thomas Aquinas.

“During the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, Americans  shone the light of the Gospel on a dark history of slavery, segregation, and racial bigotry,” the Catholic bishops say in their bulletin insert.  “The civil rights movement was an essentially religious movement, a call  to awaken consciences.

“In his famous ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’ in 1963,” the bishops  says, “Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. boldly said, ‘The goal of America is  freedom.’ As a Christian pastor, he argued that to call America to the  full measure of that freedom was the specific contribution Christians  are obliged to make. He rooted his legal and constitutional arguments  about justice in the long Christian tradition: ‘I would agree with Saint  Augustine that ‘An unjust law is no law at all.’… A just law is a  man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An  unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law.’”

The bishops have argued that elements of the Patient Protection and  Affordable Care Act—AKA Obamacare—including the  so-called “preventive services” mandate, would force faithful Catholics  to act against their consciences and the teachings of their church. The  mandate requires that virtually all health-care plans in the United  States cover, without any fees or co-pay, sterilizations and all Food  and Drug Administration-approved contraceptives, including those that  cause abortions.

The bishops also object to the manner in which Obamacare deals with  abortion generally. In April, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops  issued a background paper explaining how Obamacare not only would use tax dollars to fund abortions but would also force  Americans to pay for abortions with the premiums they would pay to purchase health  insurance—which under Obamacare they are mandated to do. The  backgrounder was titled, “The New Federal Regulation on Coerced Abortion  Payments.”

Additionally, the bishops object to the so-called “religious”  exemption to the mandate that requires all health-care plans cover  sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients. That exemption only  applies to “religious” organizations that are primarily focused on  inculcating religious tenets and that serve and employ primarily members  of their own denomination. This “religious” exemption would not extend  to Catholic schools, universities, hospitals, and charitable  organizations—and, the bishops argue, it violates the Establishment  Clause of the First Amendment by empowering federal bureaucrats to  determine which religious institutions are truly “religious” and which  ones are not.

In their bulletin insert, the bishops unequivocally state that the  administration’s sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate would  force people to act against their consciences.

“This is a matter  of whether religious people and institutions may be forced by the  government to provide such coverage even when it violates our  consciences,” say the bishops.

“What we ask is nothing more than the right to follow our consciences  as we live out our teaching,” they say.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius first announced the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient regulation last August. At that time, the bishops submitted formal comments to HHS, calling the regulation an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” and asking the administration to rescind it in its entirety.

After Sebelius finalized the regulation in January, many Catholic bishops around the country asked their priests to read a letter from the pulpit at Sunday Masses that said: “We cannot–we will not–comply with this unjust law.”

Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who leads the Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services wrote a letter that he asked all Catholic chaplains to read at Sunday masses at U.S. military facilities across the globe. Broglio’s letter not only said “we will not” comply with the law, it also said: “It is a blow to a freedom that you have fought to defend and for which you have seen your buddies fall in battle.”

As reported by CNSNews.com, the Army told Army chaplains not to read this letter in Mass, a move that Archdiocese for the Military Services described as a violation of the First Amendment rights of Archbishop Broglio and Catholic chaplains.

In the April backgrounder, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop  said that another regulation issued by the Obama administration in March of this  year confirmed what the bishops had said about Obamacare when it was up  for a vote in 2010 and they opposed its passage.

“While some have misunderstood or misrepresented the Act’s role in  funding abortions, the new rule confirms that analyses by the Catholic  bishops’ conference were accurate on this point,” said the backgrounder.

“Under this Act,” it says, “millions of American taxpayers will be forced to help  support abortion coverage, in two ways:  (1) Through their tax dollars  all taxpayers will be forced to subsidize overall health plans that  cover elective abortions, contrary to the policy of the Hyde amendment  and every other major federal program, and (2) Many of these Americans  will also be forced to pay directly for other people’s abortions. Some  will say this is technically not ‘tax funding of abortions,’ because the  required surcharge will be a premium payment rather than a tax payment  as such. But what the payment is called is less important than what it actually does.”

The day after releasing this analysis, the bishops issued “A  Statement on Religious Liberty,” that explained the Catholic belief that  “an unjust law cannot be obeyed” and called for Catholics to join in  what the bishops called “A Fortnight of Freedom” that will run from June  21 to July 4.

June 21, the bishops pointed out, is the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More.

“We suggest that the fourteen days from June 21—the vigil of the  Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More—to July 4, Independence  Day, be dedicated to this ‘fortnight for freedom’—a great hymn of prayer  for our country,” said the bishops.

“Our liturgical calendar celebrates a series of great martyrs who  remained faithful in the face of persecution by political power—St. John  Fisher and St. Thomas More, St. John the Baptist, SS. Peter and Paul,  and the First Martyrs of the Church of Rome,” said the bishops.  “Culminating on Independence Day, this special period of prayer, study,  catechesis, and public action would emphasize both our Christian and  American heritage of liberty.”

“It is a sobering thing to contemplate our government enacting an  unjust law,” the bishops said. “An unjust law cannot be obeyed. In the  face of an unjust law, an accommodation is not to be sought, especially  by resorting to equivocal words and deceptive practices. If we face  today the prospect of unjust laws, then Catholics in America, in  solidarity with our fellow citizens, must have the courage not to obey  them. No American desires this. No Catholic welcomes it. But if it  should fall upon us, we must discharge it as a duty of citizenship and  an obligation of faith.”

WHAT is SCYTL & WHY Should You Be VERY, VERY Concerned? Goodbye ACORN hello SCYTL!

By Marion Algier via Tea Party Nation

Finally, there seems to be growing concern about vote fraud. Over the last couple of months I have attended meetings about vote fraud and have become more alarmed that it may extend beyond our borders.  See:  Nov 2012 vote tabulation raising concerns  like: True the Vote (http://www.truethevote.org/) and The King Street Patriots among others, have been reaching out to teach us what they have learned. Based on some of that information, and a suggestion in an email from The King Street Patriots, I decided to help some of my friends and family participate easily because many people are good at forwarding emails, but do not follow through… (See sample letter below).

Here’s another of those quiet, subtle, but very dangerous little stories that has somehow slipped past all the mainstream media outlets.

The United States of America has a brand new private VOTE COUNTING company that the Obama administration has personally handpicked.

The company is called Scytl and it is based in Michelle Obama’s most favorite vacation spot, Barcelona, Spain.

Forget the fact that Barack is once again providing jobs for people in another country; there are much bigger fish to fry in this story.

According to the “About Us” section of the Scytl website:

Scytl is a worldwide leader in the development of secure solutions for electoral modernization.

Scytl was formed as a spin-off from a leading research group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This group, funded by the Spanish Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology, has pioneered the research on e-voting security in Europe since 1994 and has produced significant scientific results, including 25 scientific papers published in international journals and the first two European Ph.D. theses on electronic voting security, by Prof. Joan Borrell and Scytl’s founder Dr. Andreu Riera (in 1996 and 1999, respectively). This research group also participated in the first Internet binding election in Europe (i.e., the 1997 election to the Presidency of the IEEE IT Spanish chapter).

Scytl has customers both in the private and public sectors. Some of these customers represent leading references in the electoral modernization market (e.g., governments in Spain, the USA, France, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Philippines, Argentina, Mexico, Finland and Australia) and are pioneering new electronic voting applications. Scytl’s solutions have been successfully used in multiple projects worldwide, some of which represent breakthrough projects for the electoral modernization industry.

So what does this mean for all us non-European voters here in America?

According to Michael Savage, “[T]his critical component to a free election, the transparent tabulation of votes, will not be handled by individual precincts but by a company over which we will have little control…The problem is that once the votes are merged, it will be impossible to go back and check their integrity at the local level. It is very likely that this is the final step in Barack Obama’s corruption of the voting process. It has the promise of enabling him and his cohorts to control the outcomes of federal elections with no accountability. On top of that it’s one more step toward a global government.”

There are no Americans on the Board of Directors of Scytl—but CEO Pere Valles once lived and worked in Barack’s old stomping grounds, Chicago. From the Scytl website:

Mr. Valles joined Scytl in March 2004 after spending most of his professional career in the United States. Prior to joining Scytl, Mr. Valles was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of GlobalNet, a NASDAQ publicly-traded telecommunications company headquartered in Chicago. Mr. Valles assisted GlobalNet in becoming one of the leading providers of Voice-over-IP in the world and was instrumental in the successful sale of the company to the Titan Corporation, a NYSE defense company. At GlobalNet, Mr. Valles was responsible for designing and executing the strategic plan that led to an increase in revenues from US$ 25 million to over US$ 100 million and brought the company to profitability. Previously, Mr. Valles had worked as Senior Manager for KPMG‘s Mergers & Acquisitions group in Los Angeles and Miami providing financial and strategic consulting services to private equity groups and corporations involved in acquisitions in the United States, Latin America and Europe. During his career at KPMG, Mr. Valles actively participated in more than 20 transactions in the telecommunications and technology areas. Mr. Valles has a bachelor degree in Economics and a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a MBA (summa cum laude) from Indiana University.

In 2008 the Florida Department of State looked into using Scytl’s remote voting system but turned it down. Their reasons:

Our findings identified vulnerabilities that, in the worst case, could result in (i) voters being unable to cast votes, (ii) an election result that does not accurately reflect the will of the voters, or (iii) disclosure of confidential information, such as the votes cast by a voter. The extent to which these vulnerabilities could actually be exploited in the ODBP is beyond the scope of this report given our lack of system context. Secure handling and audit of the Voter Choice Records may defend against some or all of these vulnerabilities, but these procedures were not available for review.

We identify three findings of particular significance:

  • The use of supervised polling stations provides significantly better protection against voter coercion or vote- selling than is present in some other absentee voting systems, such as voting by mail.
  • Two copies of each vote are stored: one electronically, and another on paper as a Voter Choice Record. This pro- vides redundancy that is not present in existing vote-by-mail systems. If the electronic votes are well-protected, then they can enable audit of the paper records in ways that are not currently possible.
  • After casting their ballot, each voter is given a receipt that is intended to give voters confidence that their votes were “Counted as Cast”. These receipts do not achieve their stated goal of allowing voters to “independently verify that their ballots have been correctly accounted for.” These receipts might indicate that a vote was received and decrypted by the county (a property not typically provided by current postal voting systems), but they do not provide assurance that the voter’s vote was correctly recorded.

Also interesting to note, one of the organizations on “Scytl Partners” tab is Oracle, a major supporter to all-things-Democrat. And another Scytl Partner is a spooky “global governance” organization called Gov2u.org. Check them out. Yikes.

There are many, many reasons for all of us to be concerned about Obama’s choice in vote-counting this November—yet no one seems to be up-in-arms about this other than Michael Savage and a handful of Internet bloggers.

Goodbye ACORN, hello Scytl…

*This is all part of Team Obama’s plan, Progressive plan… to fight voter ID laws wherever they can to allow dead people and non-citizens to vote as well as allowing them and others to vote multiple times, to use rigged voting machines,to  intimidate people at the polls, to control the Secretaries of State, who certify the votes and now to use remote vote counting companies and systems that are tied to the Democrats and global governance supporters.  Even the use of online voting and overuse of absentee ballots, when not needed, should be of concern! Ww need to wake-up and stand-up America.  A small group of bloggers and conservative pundits have been warning about this for years. Now that Election 2012 is less than 7-months away people are finally waking-up.  Time to get involved and stand up (immediately and fervently) before it is too late!!  M~ – h/t to MJ & AJ

Voter Fraud – Hacking Democracy

Here is a simple sample letter (by GILTN1stborn)

Sample email:

Dear YOUR Sec. of State name here,

Over the last several months I have been following the stories about SCYTL, a foreign vote tabulation company in Spain. There is a long list of reasons why this is alarming and unacceptable. I know the State of Florida declined to use these systems in 2008: http://election.dos.state.fl.us/voting-systems/pdf/FinalReportSept1…

I would like to know if YOUR state here has used or intends to use SCTYL or any affiliates in vote tabulation.

I would also like to request that you change your choice for vote tabulation before Election 2012 and for any other future elections if the answer is yes.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

YOUR NAME

God Bless America

Stealing Election 2012 through voter fraud and vote counting fraud are two of the main things the various tea party groups and concerned patriots should be focusing on and negating practices like utilizing companies like SCYTL should be at the forfront of all our concerns!!

The Left’s Seven Tragic Terror Lies

Reblogged from The Counter Jihad Report

by RALPH PETERS at FSM:

If they did not put our troops, our citizens and our country at risk, the Left’s fantastic lies about terror and terrorists would be hilarious. The Left’s self-righteous nonsense in this sphere has no grounding in empirical or historical reality, but, then, reality has long been a greater threat to the Left than Islamist fanatics (the last thing any Leftie wants to do is to face the vast human wastage generated by the addictive, enervating and morally debilitating hook-the-poor social programs of the last five decades).

So, when it comes to addressing the real and deadly terrorist threat, the American left responds in the best Marxist-Leninist-Maoist-Chavista and community-organizer traditions: When the facts aren’t palatable, make up new “facts.” And political correctness has worked its poisonous tentacles so deeply into the American body politic that not even our generals challenge the ludicrous claims the Left hurls at us in its neo-Bolshevik bullying mode of shouting down every last unwelcome truth.

Of course, the left’s lies are countless, but the hard left has mastered the art of reducing the most complex human challenges to bumper-sticker slogans as nonsensical as they are reassuring to the herd (the wildly counter-factual prize probably goes to a leftie favorite, “War never changes anything.” On the contrary, war has always changed a great deal, which is why we have wars). These happy-face mantras never rise above intellectual flatulence, but the massed sheep on the Left enjoy the aroma (“Yes, we can!”).

The problem, of course, is that many of our national leaders have been brainwashed with the same slogans. The Left has mastered another technique dictators forged long ago: Repeat a lie often enough and it will be taken as truth. And, of course, our media play along.

So let’s give the slogan-hucksters a brief time-out and dissect just seven of their favorite lines:

One: Killing terrorists only turns them into martyrs. Nope. Killing terrorists turns them into dead terrorists. Of all the terrorists we’ve killed since 9/11, how many are celebrated as martyrs in the Muslim world today? Remember the Butcher of Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi? The Left solemnly warned us that killing him would turn him into a martyr and mobilize the Muslim world against us. Didn’t happen. Instead, his fellow Arabs spit upon his grave. And what about the big lad, Comrade Osama? We heard no end of grave pronunciamentos from “public intellectuals”and other fellow travelers that killing him would not only make him a martyr, but lead to an explosion of Muslim fury. Well, check it out: Not a single serious demonstration marked the one-year anniversary of his death (by the way, I’m growing confused: Were any SEALs actually in bin Laden’s compound, or did President Obama take down Osama alone, with his bare hands? That seems to be the White House position of late).

Killing terrorists doesn’t create problems. It eliminates specific problems and reduces others. What creates problems is capturing terrorists. That’s when they become martyrs, inspiring kidnappings and other attacks to free them, and leading Leftists to champion them as “prisoners of conscience” and victims of vile American oppression. Witness the recent courtroom circus at Guantanamo, where monstrous terrorists (men who should have been dead at least eight years ago) have been granted a global platform for their cause.

As a former intelligence officer, I sympathize with those who believe we need more interrogations, but I’m still for killing every terrorist we can find right on the spot-until a grown-up president revives serious clandestine operations in which the CIA can capture, strenuously interrogate then execute known terrorists without it ever becoming public knowledge. The only problem with waterboarding is that somebody told.

Two: We can’t kill our way out of this. Actually, we’ve been killing our way out of “this” with great success. In fact, killing terrorists has been the only thing that has worked. And one thing Obama-terrified of a terror attack on his watch-has gotten right has been to increase the number of lethal attacks on terrorists and to favor killing them over capturing them (Obama did learn the real lesson of Guantanamo-kill, don’t capture–although he isn’t going to inform his base). Had Bush killed as many terrorists with drone strikes and special ops as Obama has, the Left would have cried out for him to be tried as a war criminal. And what do you think Obama’s base would have had to say if Bush had authorized killing Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen? (Just to be clear, I’m glad Awlaki’s dead.)

Leftists (see Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao, etc.) don’t really object to war and violence. They just want to be in charge of it. For the left, it’s rarely about what’s done, but about who’s doing it: The left’s moral compass realigns on command.

We have 2,000 years of documented history of insurgencies led by religious fanatics (in every religion, by the way). In those two millennia, there is not a single example of a faith-fueled rebellion or terrorist movement that did not require extensive bloodshed to defeat it. Not one example in 2,000 years. And, indeed, resolute powers proved very, very good at killing their way out of it.

Three: Terrorists have rights. Sorry, that isn’t true, either. Legally, an insurgent who does not wear a distinguishing uniform, emblem or badge is an “unlawful combatant” under the much-cited, but rarely read, Laws of Land Warfare, including the Geneva and Hague Conventions. An unlawful combatant may be executed on the spot or, if you want to put a coat of wax on the paint job, after a quick tribunal in the field. We have invented rights for terrorists. And government and even military lawyers have been only too glad to go along, some because of ambition, others because they are cowed by the commissars of political correctness who now dominate our legal system at every level below the Supreme Court.

As for “human rights for terrorists,” that’s a judgment call. And my call is “No effing way, dude.” When a human being chooses to become a terrorist and massacres the innocent, he or she exits the human race.

Four: Formal trials will show them the superiority of our system of justice. You are a no-go at this station, as the drill sergeants used to say. Take yet another look at the Gitmo fiasco: You think those prisoners respect our system of justice? They’re gaming it brilliantly, turning it into an international mockery. Or are we to think that our judicial system, military or civilian, will so impress other terrorists that they’ll abandon their zealotry and head for the nearest Burger King? Perhaps we’re supposed to believe that these terror trials (when we finally get around to them) will somehow deter hardened terrorists, striking fear into their black little hearts? Tell me how it deters a hardcore fanatic to find out that, if the Americans capture him, he’ll get the first dental care of his entire life, medical care better than that provided to many law-abiding U.S. taxpayers, special halal (religiously correct) meals, free legal representation, endless appeals, plentiful recreation, and communal incarceration with his fellow perverts on a tropical beach? That’s supposed to be Club Dread? U.S.-citizen convicts in our Federal prisons get far fewer privileges than terrorists who murdered 3,000 Americans. And the Left still complains about their treatment (not so much now that Obama’s president, though-although he was going to close Gitmo in one year). Our legal system has about as much deterrent value against fanatical terrorists as a Hershey Bar.

And did I mention the tens of millions of taxpayer dollars devoted to incarcerating these mass-murderers every year? We’re not a shining example of justice. We’re a laughingstock.

Five: The only path to peace is negotiations. I was bewildered, yet again, when our president, in his recent re-election-campaign speech at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan said, first, that we would never allow the return of the Taliban to power, then, minutes later, that we secretly have been negotiating with the Taliban to bring them into the Afghan government. Even in Vietnam, we displayed more decency than that. But let me clarify: My bewilderment did not stem from our president’s shameless duplicity (for political reasons, he launched his disastrous surge, now, for other political reasons, he’s ending his surge and “fixing” the problem he himself created-Obama has the integrity of an offshore telemarketer selling timeshares). No, my bewilderment stemmed from the media’s utter failure to call the president on this blatant contradiction. But, then, our president can stop the sun in its course, walk on water and heal the sick all at once, as far the media are concerned.so he surely can perform the miracle of simultaneously keeping the Taliban out of Kabul and welcoming them back to Kabul. Much easier than turning water into a nice little unoaked chardonnay.

Negotiations are the opium of the diplomats. Again, in 2,000 years of factual history of religion-fueled insurgencies, not one has been quelled through negotiations. The basic problem is that fanatics on a mission from their god do not feel obligated to keep promises to unbelievers-even if they are cornered into making promises for tactical reasons or just to buy time. In political and even some ethnic insurgencies, negotiations may have a place. But in religion-driven uprisings and terror movements, negotiations are one hundred per cent worthless. You have to kill the buggers.

Which brings us to:

SixIt’s not about religion.  This is one of the  biggest hoots of all time.  Our enemies are jumping up and down, telling us  that their every action is done in the name of their god, and our response is  “Oh, they don’t really mean that!”  Even our military is so pathetically  cowed by the politically correct atmosphere in Washington that the generals play  along while the troops pay the price.  A good rule is that, when your enemy  tells you what he’s fighting for, willingly sacrifices his life for it, and  attracts recruits by preaching it, you will benefit from listening to what he’s  saying.  Our enemies do, indeed, know what they’re fighting for.   We’re the ones who don’t.  Oh, and you don’t become a suicide bomber  because you expect a pay raise.

This is not a religious war for us, but that’s one more factor that makes the  struggle asymmetrical.  We’re fighting for our values and to protect  ourselves.  Our enemies believe they’re on a mission from their god to  punish us for our sins, heresies and international hamburger promotions.   Islamist terrorists even justify the slaughter of their ostensibly less-devout  co-religionists in the name of purifying the faith or other equally ugly  rationales (al Qaeda has slaughtered far more Muslims than it has killed  Westerners).  Yet, we insist that the problem is just local politics, or  underdevelopment, or social alienation, or childhood trauma, blah, blah,  blah.

Islam as a whole is not attacking us, nor is every Muslim consumed with  dreams of anti-Western jihad.  But we have been and are being attacked by a  lethal, utterly committed minority of Islamist fanatics who believe their  actions are sanctioned and required by their deity.  If we can’t even face  that, we’re not only fools, but cowards.

One of the funniest jokes-within-the-joke on this subject has been Western,  post-Christian commentators claiming that what al Qaeda does isn’t really jihad.  News flash: We don’t get to determine what is or isn’t  jihad.  Muslims do.  And even Muslims who despise al Qaeda acknowledge  them as jihadis.  It’s as if the late Monsieur bin Laden had tried to tell  us which Christians qualify as born again.

Seven: It’s about us.  This claim arises from the  perverse narcissism of the Left that revels in the notion that all of the  world’s ills are the fault of America, capitalism and those of us who actually  pay taxes.  But for al Qaeda and that ailing organization’s deformed  offspring, we’re just a convenient, distant and instantly recognizable  symbol.  After all, you couldn’t really claim that Luxembourg was the Great  Satan and attract many followers.  Jihad goes better with Coke.

Historically, our country’s behavior has not been flawless.  But only  God is perfect.  And, taken as a whole, our influence on history and  humankind has been overwhelmingly positive.  But the American Left, the  global Left and Islamist terrorists have one thing in common: They cannot  tolerate or endure our success.  For the Left, we’re intolerable because  we’ve exposed their ideologies as worthless (which doesn’t stop them from  conducting further experiments on the poor), while, for the Islamists, we’ve  embarrassed their faith by triumphing in every sphere of human endeavor, while  Allah’s children still can’t build a decent bicycle.

The problems that give rise to Islamist terror are home-grown: The  comprehensive failure of a civilization that cannot escape the deadening  strictures of a still-immature faith that has not gotten beyond the  late-medieval Christian age of theological scholasticism, obsession with the  outward manifestations of faith and public conformity, and superstition.   In Western terms, al Qaeda’s burning witches (although, to be fully accurate,  the witch-burnings were a reactionary response to the later stress the  Renaissance placed on traditional cultures.but, then, why should I care about  accuracy, when the Left shuns facts like the Plague).

Humiliated by their own massive failure, Islamist fanatics take refuge in a  vision of a Muslim golden age that never really existed.  Among left-wing  fellow travelers in our own country, the terrorists’ benign counterparts are the  vortex-visiting, crystal-clutching, part-time-barista believers that Atlantis  will rise again and all wrongs shall be righted (and practitioners of Tantric  Yoga will live in rent-free condos).  Failed human beings and failed  civilizations need someone to blame and something greater than themselves to  believe in.  And Uncle Sam is the number one choice of lazy minds  everywhere for the name on the blame-line, while aberrant religious faith,  whether manifested by incendiary devices or too much sandalwood incense, is the  default position for the children of failure.

Or course, facts, evidence and logic don’t really matter to the Left.   The fundamental draw of the Left is that it promises an escape from reality (and  from hard work).  But even if we succeed in demolishing each one of the  myths listed above, the Left would still have an eighth, indestructible,  all-purpose myth to fall back on:

“It’s all Bush’s fault.”

Muslims from French no-go zones armed with bazookas raiding banks in Switzerland

Muslims in France (Dijons) attacking Swiss businesses.

http://www.nzz.ch/aktuell/startseite/kriminaltouristen-werden-gewalttaetiger_1.17055820.html

The swiss border guard is arming against heavily armed gangs from the french banlieues. These gangs stem mostly from the Lyon banlieue; their members are mostly french nationals of north-african origin. Until now, they have committed their raids mostly in western Switzerland [that is the german swiss term for the country's francophone zone] and in the Ticino [Switzerland's italophone zone].

Jürg Noth, chief of the Schweizerisches Grenzwachtkorps (GWK) [Swiss Border Guard Corps], warns against french tourists in crime raiding banks, clock manufacturers and clock museums in Switzerland. ‘The perpetrators procede each time more violently and inconsiderately’, says he in an interview with ‘NZZ am Sonntag’ [sunday edition of this newspaper - NZZ, or Neue Zürcher Zeitung]. ‘They are armed with assault rifles, submachine guns and even bazookas, and they even use them.’

These gangs stem usually from the banlieues of Lyon; their members are mostly french nationals of north-african origin. Until now, they have carried out their raids mostly in western Switzerland and the Ticino. But now they expand their activities towards north-western Switzerland [meaning: the german-language area towards Basel], continues to say Jürg Noth. ‘Severe raids have augmented in recent months.’ [*)]

Because of growing cross-border crime, the border guard corps now takes new measures: Its staff is being trained especially against the violent gangs, plus assigns additional border guards in western Switzerland and the Ticino. Also, new protective vests, new road blocks and additional video cameras will be purchased. Finally, helicopters and drones will be used more extensively against these tourists in crime [**)]. This way, the GWK could arrest three perpetrators early in may, after having prosecuted them by helicopter into France.

Crime tourism to Switzerland has grown in recent years. In 2009, around 11 300 foreigners not having a permit of sojourn or residence for Switzerland were accused of crimes. In 2101, this figure climbed to 11 900, last year to 12 800. Most perpetrators come from France and Romania. From Romania we usually get so-called skimming gangs; skimming is fraud committed with falsified ATM or credit cards. Also these have grown in recent times; the border guard corps catch at least one such skimming gang per week.’

Note from translator:

This appears to be only the first time that the swiss public is informed about it.

So far, they have used this ‘stasi’ manner mostly against unorthodox swiss citizens and similar people from related nations.

Dem Senator Patrick Leahy Also Threatens Supreme Court over Obamacare

By via The Western Center for Journalism

Two months ago, Barack Obama decided he could intimidate the United States Supreme Court into finding his namesake healthcare plan Constitutional. Overturning the Affordable Care Act “…would amount to an unprecedented, extraordinary step of judicial activism” said the President at a rare White House news conference, adding “…I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”

Though someone with the hyper-arrogant mentality of the Manchurian Candidate doesn’t really need a reason to direct this sort of psycho-babble at a presumptive enemy, Obama was probably responding to information provided by far left Justice Elena Kagan that the Court’s closed-door, preliminary vote on ObamaCare had not gone very well. Each Friday, the 9 justices gather for an initial vote on the cases heard during the week. And although these weekly conferences are to be strictly confidential, it’s a safe bet that Obama’s Court stoolie was on the phone with the White House minutes after its conclusion.

However, as this preemptive strike on the court was met with a nationwide flurry of criticism even from a number of his media supporters, Obama made no further reference to the prospective ruling.

But on Monday, a new county was heard from. Dedicated leftist Senator Patrick Leahy directed a 2000 word dissertation at the Court from the Senate floor, selecting as his principle target Chief Justice John Roberts. “The constitutional challenge to the Affordable Care Act is the current instance in which narrow ideology and partisanship are pressuring the Supreme Court to intervene where it should not,” claimed Leahy, making clear his view that the Court has no business interfering with a Congressional assault on the Constitution. The senator advanced the 2000 Bush/Gore decision as an example of the sort of “judicial activism” that “shook the confidence of the American people in the Supreme Court.”  He ridiculed conservative justices for their tough questioning of principle ObamaCare advocate Solicitor General Donald Verilli during oral arguments, stating “their action will not help restore American’s confidence in the Court to fairly apply the law.”

And he alternately praised and threatened the Chief Justice, literally claiming that if Roberts joined other conservatives in a 5-4 decision against ObamaCare it would “…undoubtedly further erode the reputation and legitimacy of the Supreme Court.”

But what prompted Leahy’s sudden decision to lecture the Supreme Court as to its proper role in government? Was it a last ditch effort to intimidate justices into finding ObamaCare constitutional? Or has Kagan perhaps advised Democrats that Roberts is “wavering” a bit, leading Leahy to believe his misguided, nonsensical claims might persuade the Chief Justice to decide in favor of passage?

Since its enactment in 2010, liberals have believed the Affordable Care Act to be a sure thing to pass Constitutional muster. They were stunned when Justices took offense at the law’s contempt for individual liberty during oral arguments. After all, how could forcing Americans to purchase something they don’t want be unconstitutional if it’s for their own good!

If 5 Justices rule the ObamaCare individual mandate unconstitutional, the American people will hear a wailing and gnashing of teeth unequaled since the pro-Gore efforts of the Florida Supreme Court were undone after the 2000 election. We will be in for some very entertaining days.

The Strange-Strange World of Eric Holder | Grumpy Opinions.

I don’t have the time or the inclination, but somebody could build an entire website around Eric Holder’s apparent conflicts with reality.

It seems like almost everything he does is totally alien to the average American.  He seems to find it offensive that several states want to purge the voter rolls of people who are dead.

Eric Holder's fantasy world is most people's dreams on steroids! His distinction between fact and fiction; truth and lies; reality and make-believe is non-existent. This man-child protege of our man-child President needs a reality check and will hopefully receive one in November!!!
