Obama’s narcissism a danger to America, and the world

I must confess that, in 2008, I was impressed by Barack Obama. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared confident and was as smooth as a rock star. He commanded the stage and screen. I was really confident that this man, being black and having a possible semi-Muslim upbringing, was the perfect candidate to make lasting peace in the Middle East. I was sure that Israel was going to see a much-needed peace with the Palestinians, and my visits to eat great humus in Tulkarem — a small Palestinian town near Netanya — would one day soon be possible again.

But I was put off very soon after President Obama took office. The first time I began to look more closely at him was when I watched his speech in Cairo. I listened in awe and disbelief, but I thought that this may be a ploy to embrace the Muslim world and develop a mutual respect with the Arabs. Perhaps, I thought, this was a great tactic in showing friendship and commitment to the Muslim masses.

All too soon, my hopes started to fade. As I began watching President Obama’s body language and listened more closely to his tone of voice, I noticed a shallowness and an air of haughtiness that was unsettling. His posture and his body language were louder than his words. It stunned me to watch his speeches, which were filled with such “religious” inflection that it struck me in a why it no doubt did for so many others.

I watched and watched and saw how things in this volatile region of heated debate and steady but almost controlled violence started spiraling way out of control. What I thought were going to be U.S. accomplishments in this historic and religious global epicenter turned out to be deadly failures with long-term consequences.

I went back to watch the Cairo speech, watching over and over again, and I noticed that President Obama is really not an ordinary man. Hischaracter is indeed unique in that he has the ability to impress or frustrate. Even though I felt that at times he was quite ignorant to the most important subjects relating to Israel, like the 1967 borders, he never really spoke like a lawyer or politician but rather someone who was out to prove that he was the epicenter and not the problem.

Obama’s language, posture and demeanor seemed wrong to me. This was supposed to be a president who gave hope to so many, who was supposed to implement change in a positive way for all. It was as if President Obama was projecting a grandiose posture that was not his. He looked out of place and suddenly was not the presidential figure representing the free world.

It seemed that he created a sort of personality cult around himself, elevating his admirers blindly, presenting a somewhat false trust of enthusiasm that led followers to believe that no matter what he said in his speeches, he was free to do as he wished, unaccountable at all times. These admirers would follow at any cost, blindly as if in a daze or hypnotized. He promised the moon but delivered doom, and people were missing the real-life threats taking place, unfolding as an optical illusion of a beautiful spring dubbed “the Arab Spring.”

In searching for answers to find out what Obama’s real agenda on Israel was, I became swamped with irrelevant accusations, doctored pictures and cartoons. The mainstream media was promoting Obama, pushing him forward into the sphere that he sought to be. They, too, were blinded. I found an interesting observation by chance when I came across the behavioral patterns of narcissism. This disorder was common in the likes of other world leaders, but more so in dictators and power-seekers, those who wanted control as if it meant everything.

I am by no means a professional psychologist, nor have I ever had any training other than simple body language classes and perhaps a more in-depth profiling education based on the work I carried out as an Israeli police officer. Having said this, I started noticing alarming signs that perhaps indicate a slight narcissistic trend in President Obama. I base this assumption on the president’s speeches and statements, both on and off the record.

Obama’s imposing personality overwhelms those around him. He charms with his charisma. He shapes those around him and reduces others in his own inverted image (as we saw with his snubbing of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu).

I drew from my readings that narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them reach their personal objectives. They are focused on one thing alone, and that is power and control.

All other issues are meaningless to them, and they do not like to waste their precious time on trivialities. Anything that does not help them is beneath them and does not deserve their attention (remember President Obama’s recent comments when he snubbed Netanyahu’s request for action on the Iranian nuclear weapons program?).

Take a look at his attitude while serving in the U.S. Senate. If an issue was raised in the Senate that did not help Obama in one way or another, he had no interest in it. “Present” was a safe vote. No one could criticize him if things went wrong. Those issues were unworthy by their very nature because they were not about him.

A study by a leading psychologist found that Obama’s election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations. The University of Chicago Law School provided him a lot longer than expected, and at the end, the project evolved into his own autobiography. Instead of a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which he had been paid, Obama it seems could not resist writing about his most sublime self. He titled the book, “Dreams from My Father.”

Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they lack conscience. This is perhaps evident from Obama’s lack of interest in his own brother, who lives in poverty. A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii and who raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why? Because his brother cannot be used in his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself.

There is no doubt this election has been like no other in the history of America. The main issues are really insignificant compared to what is at stake in the form of lives being spared and countries disappearing and, yes, the global economy. What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality, as the leader of the free world?

An August 16th cable requested additional security and reported there were ten Islamist militias and Al Qaeda groups in Benghazi and they could not sustain an organized attack.  This information reportedly went directly to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from Ambassador Stevens.  Stevens also informed Clinton that he feared an attack on the consulate would be next.

Fox News also reports: “It was revealed that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had ordered more  security at the U.S. mission in Benghazi before it was attacked where four  Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens were murdered by  Al-Qaeda but President Obama denied the request.”

 

 

As Catherine Herridge said, “This may be the smoking gun.”  I fervently hope it is enough evidence to fire and prosecute those in charge!

Today Fox News Channel’s Jennifer Griffin reported that sources on the ground in Benghazi told her “that three urgent requests from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack nearly seven hours later were denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators to ‘stand down’ rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.”  It was also reported that the events were being broadcast live as they were unfolding in Benghazi.

This came as quite a shock to Charles Woods, father of slain operative Tyrone Woods.

Mr. Woods said that, as a family, they did not want to politicize the death of their son; however, he is extremely upset and frustrated with an administration that refuses to provide truth and facts surrounding his son’s death.

In an interview with Glenn Beck yesterday Mr. Woods described his meeting with the President, Vice President and Hillary Clinton at the memorial service at Joint Base Andrews for his son and the three other Americans killed.  He claimed the President appeared emotionless and  “shaking hands with him, quite frankly, was like shaking hands with a dead fish. His face was pointed towards me but he would not look me in the eye, his eyes were over my shoulder.” “I could tell that he was not sorry,” he added. “He had no remorse.”

He recalled Vice President Biden saying to him “in an extremely loud and boisterous voice,” “Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?” He questioned the sincerity of their sympathy, and that of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

 

 

He said Clinton told him “they would find and prosecute the person who made the video” that she claimed was the cause of the massacre. “When she said that, I could tell that she was not telling me the truth,” Woods said about Clinton.

It is inconceivable that any American could watch and listen to these and then vote for Obama. I sympathize with Mr. Woods and pray he and his family get the answers they deserve. I hope his son receives the honor and respect he deserves for putting his life on the line for his fellow Americans. Mr. Woods, you should be very proud of your son and I am so very sorry your country is letting you down.

Romney has laid out his plans for the United States, our allies and our enemies. Not only will he NOT lead from behind, he will lead by strength.  Romney repeated his initial comment that the violent attacks on our embassies and personnel, including the murder of Ambassador Stevens, was not due to a reprehensible video insulting Islam, despite the Administration’s attempts to convince us of that for so long.  “No, as the administration has finally conceded, these attacks were the deliberate work of terrorists who use violence to impose their dark ideology on others, especially women and girls; who are fighting to control much of the Middle East today; and who seek to wage perpetual war on the West.”   Unlike the Obama administration he actually used the term “extremists.”

“I want to be very clear: The blame for the murder of our people in Libya, and
the attacks on our embassies in so many other countries, lies solely with those
who carried them out—no one else. But it is the responsibility of our President
to use America’s great power to shape history—not to lead from behind, leaving
our destiny at the mercy of events …. Al-Qaeda remains a strong force in Yemen and Somalia, in Libya and other parts of North Africa, in Iraq, and now in Syria. And other extremists have gained ground across the region.”

As Romney said, hope is not strategy and he gets it. It is time for a real leader, a real Commander-in-Chief, and a real President – one who will serve and protect America, not our enemies.

As President Obama and VP Joe Biden continue to tout the success of killing Osama Bin Laden, al Qaeda continues to demonstrate they are still strong and still hell-bent on killing us!  “Sources say intelligence agencies knew within a day that al Qaeda affiliates were behind the attacks in Benghazi, Libya—they even knew where one of the attackers lived.”

 

Sen. Bob Corker, a Tennessee Republican, was quoted as saying.

“There was very good information on this in the first 24 hours. These guys have a return address.”

The following is from Eli Lake via The Daily Beast:

Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya.

Nonetheless, it took until late last week for the White House and the administration to formally acknowledge that the Benghazi assault was a terrorist attack. On Sunday, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs explained the evolving narrative as a function of new information coming in quickly on the attacks. “We learned more information every single day about what happened,” Gibbs said on Fox News. “Nobody wants to get to the bottom of this faster than we do.”

The intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast did so anonymously because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press. They said U.S. intelligence agencies developed leads on four of the participants of the attacks within 24 hours of the fire fight that took place mainly at an annex near the Benghazi consulate. For one of those individuals, the U.S. agencies were able to find his location after his use of social media. “We had two kinds of intelligence on one guy,” this official said. “We believe we had enough to target him.”

Another U.S. intelligence official said, “There was very good information on this in the first 24 hours. These guys have a return address. There are camps of people and a wide variety of things we could do.”

A spokesman for the National Security Council declined to comment for the story. But another U.S. intelligence official said, “I can’t get into specific numbers but soon after the attack we had a pretty good bead on some individuals involved in the attack.”

Obama Falsely Blames Bush for Fast and Furious

The blame game continues!  Yesterday President Obama blamed former president George Bush for the current “Fast and Furious”  government gun-running scandal during a town hall meeting hosted by Univision at  the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.  We have four dead embassy officials and a dead border patrol agent – and Obama is still blaming a video and George Bush!!!

 

 

According to the Digital Journal:

“I think it’s important for us to understand that the “Fast and Furious” program  was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration,” the  president said. “When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned a inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued,  confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and the people who did initiate this were held accountable,” said Mr. Obama.

 The “Fast and Furious” program was  actually started in October 2009, nine months after Obama came to office,  according to an ABC  OTUS News report.
 

While similar but more successful  programs involving ATF agents were conducted during the Bush administration they  were completely separate operations, not part of the Obama administration’s  “field-initiated program,” as Obama told the crowd. Also, there were no  Americans killed in such a program under Bush.

 After the president’s falsehood was  pointed out, White House officials did not respond to a request for comment  by media.
 
Regarding Obama’s embattled Attorney  General a White  House spokesman said inside investigators “concluded that although Attorney  General Holder was notified immediately of (Border Patrol) Agent (Brian) Terry’s  shooting and death, he was not told about the connection between the firearms  found at the scene of the shooting and Operation “Fast and Furious.”
 

We determined that Attorney General  Holder did not learn of that fact until sometime in 2011, after he received Sen.  Grassley’s January 27 letter. Senior Department officials were aware of this  significant and troubling information by December 17, 2010, but did not believe  the information was sufficiently important to alert the Attorney General about  it or to make any further inquiry regarding this development.”

Although Attorney General Eric Holder feels he has been exonerated by the recent Inspector General’s report, ABC News feels otherwise:

 …this was not entirely an exoneration of the Justice Department run by Mr. Holder. “We found it troubling that a case of this magnitude, and one that affected Mexico so significantly was not directly briefed to the Attorney General,” the report stated.

In addition to specific disciplinary measures, the Inspector General “made six recommendations designed to increase the Department’s involvement in and oversight of ATF operations, improve coordination among the Department’s law enforcement components, and enhance the Department’s wiretap application review and authorization process. The OIG intends to closely monitor the department’s progress in implementing these recommendations.”

When Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen and the Government Accountability Institute reported that President Obama has attended less than half of his Presidential Daily Briefs (PDBs) on intelligence, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney called the findings “hilarious.”  The next day, U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American staff members were murdered.

According to Mr. Carney, Mr. Obama doesn’t need in-person briefings because the president gets the written version on his iPad:

He gets it every day, okay? The President of the United States gets the presidential daily briefing every day. There is a document that he reads every day when he is not — well, he always reads it every day because he’s a voracious consumer of all of his briefing materials.

But now, in an apparent 180-degree reversal, the White House official calendar shows that for the last four days Mr. Obama has ditched his iPad and has instead opted for the live briefings.

That’s a good thing.  As Mr. Thiessen explains, the live briefings are far preferred over the written daily intel reports, because they offer presidents and their advisors an opportunity to drill down into intelligence threats and to challenge assumptions.  “This process cannot be replicated on paper,” says Mr. Thiessen.

Still, Mr. Carney owes Mr. Thiessen an apology.  Carney said Thiessen’s report was “hilarious” and flippantly dismissed the need for Mr. Obama to attend live intelligence briefings.  Then, after four Americans were murdered and Mr. Obama’s foreign policy approval rating plunged, Mr. Obama has now decided to actually start showing up for his daily presidential intelligence briefings, just as Mr. Thiessen urged him to do.

Mr. Obama’s newfound interest in attending his daily intelligence briefings won’t undo last week’s horrific events in the Middle East.  But perhaps it may help in preventing similar atrocities in the days ahead.

In the following video ABC News’ Jake Tapper was met with a stone wall in the White House briefing room today as spokesman Jay Carney deflected, distracted and demurred on any questions related to the administration’s failure to provide adequate security at the US consulate in Benghazi which led to the tragic murders.

The mass riots and attacks on embassies do not mark the moment when Obama’s foreign policy imploded. That happened a long time ago. What these attacks actually represent is the moment when the compliant media were no longer able to continue hiding that failure in bottom drawers and back pages.

The media successfully covered for Obama’s retreat from Iraq, and the weekly Al Qaeda car bombings and rush to civil war no longer make the news. The media have also done their best to cover for Obama’s disaster in Afghanistan which has cost thousands of American lives while completely failing to defeat the Taliban.

Obama had hoped to cover up his defeat in Afghanistan by cutting a deal with the “moderate” Taliban, but the Taliban, moderate or extreme, refused to help him cover his ass. Attacks in Afghanistan have escalated, but the media have avoided challenging the bizarre assertions from the Obama campaign that the mission has been accomplished and Karzai will be ready to take over security in a few years.

And then the Islamists did something that the media just couldn’t ignore. They staged a series of attacks on American embassies and foreign targets beginning on September 11. These attacks, the most devastating and public of which took place on September 11, were accompanied by Islamist black flags and chants of, “We Are All Osama” in countries across North Africa and the Middle East.

The media have done their best to avoid dealing with the implications of Islamists carrying out a coordinated series of attacks on everything from foreign embassies to peacekeeping forces in the Sinai, by focusing on a Mohammed movie which the Egyptian Salafists exploited for propaganda purposes, rather than on the tactical support and level of coordination required to launch such a broad series of attacks and what the attacks and their scope say about the transformation of the conflict from stray attacks by terrorist groups to armed militias taking control of entire regions.

Rather than doing their job, the media seemed to be dividing their attention between reporting on the carnage without any context and putting out talking points to prevent Mitt Romney from taking political advantage of the disaster. The media’s accusations that Mitt Romney was politicizing the conflict were absurd, especially coming after the New York Times ran an editorial on September 11 attacking George W. Bush for not preventing the attacks of that day and after five years of Obama and his media allies politicizing every suicide bombing in Iraq.

While American embassies burned, the media were determined to go on doing what they had been doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. They had covered for Obama in three disastrous wars, one of which he had begun and which had exploded in the faces of staffers at the Benghazi consulate. And they are still covering for him, but the conflict has moved beyond the point where it can be relegated to the back pages of the daily papers.

Obama had hoped that the Islamists would see the advantage of allowing him to save face and give them another term of the same inept appeasement disguised as diplomatic soft power. Instead the Islamists seized on his weakness and trumpeted it to the world to humiliate him and the country that he had been temporarily placed in charge of.

If Obama had really understood Muslims, the way that he claimed he did during the election, then he would have known that this was coming all along. The way of the desert raid is to catch the enemy at his weakest and most vulnerable, and to humiliate him for that weakness in the eyes of his peers. In the honor-shame culture of Islam, there is only room for honor or shame. Obama tried to cover his shame and retain his honor and his enemies tore that façade of honor away from him and left only shame.

For I enjoin what is right; I forbid what is wrong; I will fight against oppression; AND I WILL DIE TO ESTABLISH ISLAM.”  As a member, Huma Abedin surely recited this pledge!

 

 

We need to be less politically correct and more defense oriented or we will soon be wondering ‘What the hell just happened?’
