NM Governor Susanna Martinez: “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans”

New Mexico Governor Susanna Martinez:  “I was a Democrat for many years.  So were my parents.”  One day she and her husband were at lunch with some Republicans.  They never talked about being Republican or Democrat or even Conservative or Liberal.  They talked about many issues like welfare, taxes, and size of government.  When they left that lunch, she turned to her husband and said, “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans”!

Governor Martinez is the first female Hispanic governor of the United States.  And she gets it!  I think if more people would really look at where they stand on the issues, they will find, like Governor Martinez, they are Republicans.  I think many liberals, especially African-Americans, think they have to vote Democrat because they have always voted Democrat.  What about Republican Martin Luther King Jr.?  What about John F. Kennedy who once proclaimed, ”Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”?  Current Democrats are just the opposite – they think the government is the answer and provider to all.

I loved her speech – especially ”President Obama has added 5 trillion dollars to the national debt, and he DID build that!”

 

 

I am so proud of our young new stars and really believe there is hope for our country!

When the Democrats, aided and abetted by the RINO establishment, pushed the  Motor Voter law through, they had one thing in mind.  They wanted to get as many unlawful voters registered so they could steal elections.

With Florida probably being THE swing state this year, we should all be alarmed by this news.

From Reuters:

Florida election authorities are examining about 180,000 people who they say may not be U.S. citizens but are registered to vote in the state, an official said on Friday.

State officials are updating Florida’s voter rolls ahead of the U.S. presidential election in November. Florida is home to a large Latino population and is expected to be a critical swing state in the contest between Democratic President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

Florida’s Division of Elections said it is checking the citizenship of voters by comparing its databases with those of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, which keeps track of whether a licensed driver is also a U.S. citizen.

Similar efforts have been carried out by state authorities in Colorado and New Mexico, which also have large Latino communities.

“We’re going to vet a list of 180,000 people to try to come up with a real number,” said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Florida’s Division of Elections. “We don’t want to jump to conclusions without a thorough investigation.”

Officials in Florida have so far identified more than 2,600 potential voters who may not be U.S. citizens and sent their information to local election authorities, Cate said.

Drivers in Florida are required to show proof of their legal status when they get a driver’s license or renew an old one.

Cate said cross-referencing voter rolls with the highway department information could help better determine whether voters are U.S. citizens, but he added the information was sometimes incomplete.

“Their last contact with the highway department may have been four or five years ago and they could have had the chance to become a citizen since then,” he said.

Potential non-citizen voters are notified by mail and given 30 days to respond.

You can bet your last dollar the Obama campaign and the Party of Treason are going to pull every trick out to try and steal this election this fall.    This is why we need voter ID laws.

Americans must have confidence our elections are fair.   If the Obama Regime tries to or even manages to steal this election this fall, all bets are off.

It is up to we the people to make sure they do not steal this election and make sure we get voter ID laws in all 50 states to make sure the Democrats never steal another election.

OBAMACARE WATCH:.....CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFI...

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office today released new estimates on the cost of the president’s health care law, revealing a shocking new sticker price of $1.8 trillion.

According to the report, the estimated gross cost of coverage for FY 2012-2021 has increased to $1.48 trillion, which is “$50 billion higher than last year’s projection.” Some are already trying to present one side of the report and simply highlight a reduced net cost, but a closer look at CBO’s analysis unravels how the Democrats used budget gimmicks to hide the true cost of the health care law. The report continues, “An additional $99 billion in net deficit reduction from penalty payments, the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans, and other effects on tax revenues and outlays—with most of those effects reflecting changes in revenues.” Meaning? The individual mandate penalties and taxes on job creators hid the law’s $50 billion increase in the gross cost of the coverage.

According to CBO, four million fewer Americans will receive employer-based insurance, leading “to an increase in estimated revenues because a larger share of total compensation will take the form of taxable wages and salaries and a smaller share will be in the form of nontaxable health benefits.”

Despite former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s promise that the health care law would create 4 million jobs, CBO explains one of the reasons for the increase in the cost of coverage is due to the weak economy that continues on the president’s watch. The report explains, “the unemployment rate is higher throughout the projection period than it was in last year’s forecast. CBO also now estimates that wages and salaries will be lower than it previously anticipated. Those changes yield an increase in the projected number of people eligible for Medicaid and CHIP as a result of the ACA.” Since more Americans are unemployed than projected, more people will be forced onto Medicaid. Speaker Pelosi was also right when she said we’d have to pass the bill to find out what was in it.

Obama Reelection is American’s “Most Feared Event” in 2012

In an amazing act of political and editorial courage, U.S. News and World Report published the results of its new “Washington Whispers” poll that surveyed “1,000 [American] Households,” asking them “what potential news event do you fear most in 2012?”

At 33 percent–the winner was: “President Obama Wins Reelection.”

According to Paul Bedard’s USNWR article from yesterday, titled “Poll: Americans, 2-1, Fear Obama’s Reelection,” Bedard wrote that … ‘many voters aren’t forgetting what they dislike about Obama and want him out of office.’

The magazine, which converted to a “digital” [online] format beginning with the January 2011 issue, is best know for its’ two annual print editions, “Best Colleges” and “Best Hospitals,” but, it is also been long known for being a liberal-leaning [mainstream media] publication.

So, how did this article and its poll results get published in President Obama’s ‘do-or-die’ reelection year?

It appears that Mr. Bedard may have wanted to single-handedly attempt to ‘dull’ the affects of these [devastating] poll results for ‘the [Democrat] team’, by using tactical fact placement and his own commentary, as an example, he wrote … ‘Next to Obama’s reelection, 31 percent of Americans said they feared higher taxes, which may be proof that the president’s focus on the payroll tax cut has hit pay dirt.’

Although well intentioned, Bedard missed the mark here.  Most people commonly think in terms of “federal income tax [withholding]” when they think of higher taxes, just like that from a roll-back of the “Bush Tax Cuts.”

This is quite different from the entirely useless and blatantly temporary “payroll tax holiday”, which has produced no jobs, and has redirected badly needed financial resources away from the teetering Social Security Trust Fund–threatening its’ very solvency, and the probability of receiving benefits for the very people getting this short term “feel good” fix.

Then Bedard tried again, when he wrote:

‘The poll, however, held out some hope for Obama. Some 38 percent of younger Americans, 18-24, said their biggest fear was higher taxes. Just 28 percent of those same voters said they feared Obama winning in November.’

Once again, Bedard’s ball landed in the weeds.

As it is President Obama and the Democrats who steadfastly believe the country has a “revenue problem” versus a “spending problem,” then their approach to deficit [and national debt] reduction must include increased taxes–on everyone.  It has been relentlessly proven that increasing taxes to whatever extent on top income earners alone will not do the job.

With that having been made clear, we can confidently combine the top two responses, from both age groups, which are higher taxes and Obama’s reelection, and translate that into a total Obama “fear factor” of 64 percent for adults, and 66 percent for young voting-age adults–virtually the same outcome.

Finally, to round out the remaining demographics, according to Bedard’s reporting on this poll, nearly half of all Americans aged 65 and older said Obama’s reelection was their top fear, with 39 percent of those making $75,000 or more in agreement.

A scant 16 percent said their greatest fear in 2012 was that Obama would not be reelected.

Our struggling economy weighs on the minds of many Americans this holiday season. They’re worried about their families and futures, and looking to Washington to find common ground to help create jobs.

This fall, President Obama called for a year-long extension of the payroll tax cut, and the House passed a year-long extension, with bipartisan support. Our bill would also extend and reform unemployment insurance, protect seniors’ access to doctors through Medicare, and help create jobs. Unfortunately, instead of passing the House bill or any other year-long extension, Democratic leaders in the Senate passed a two-month measure and left town for the holidays.

Washington doesn’t get to punt on this one.

The president and the House are right to want to extend this tax cut a full year, rather than two months. Having run a small business, met a payroll, and hired workers, I’ve seen first-hand how Washington’s Band-Aids and gimmicks cause further uncertainty for employers and employees alike. The idea that the federal government can set tax rates in two-month increments without doing any harm is exactly the kind of Washington thinking that has helped run our economy off the tracks.

Don’t take my word for it. Non-partisan payroll tax experts have told Congress that a two-month extension is “unworkable,” and that it “could create substantial problems, confusion and costs affecting a significant percentage of U.S. employers and employees.”

Just as important, hardworking taxpayers trying to make ends meet or save for college or retirement deserve to know what their paychecks will look like for the whole year — not just an eight-week stretch.

The American people expect Congress to pass a one-year extension, and we should not wait to finish this work. We should complete it immediately.

That’s why the House has voted to begin a formal conference committee to resolve the differences between the House and Senate bills. There’s nothing unusual about this. This is the system our Founders gave us. It’s as old as our nation, as clear as our Constitution. Republicans have appointed eight lawmakers to this conference committee, and they are in Washington now, ready to meet.

Despite all this, Senate Democrats are refusing to return from vacation and negotiate with the House. We hope the president, who has repeatedly said he won’t go on vacation until this matter is resolved, will urge Senate Democrats to change their minds. He should call on them to appoint negotiators so we can extend payroll tax relief for a full year and help create jobs. Otherwise, Senate Democrats’ refusal to negotiate means Americans’ taxes going up on Jan. 1. It should not come to that, and I’m confident it won’t.

When hardworking taxpayers have work to finish, they don’t knock off early. They stay and get the job done. Let’s follow their example and come together to do the right thing for our economy and our country.

This has got to be one of the creepiest stories in recent  times.

From The White House Dossier:

The Obama presidential campaign is launching an effort to collect Republican email addresses by inviting its supporters to submit information about their Republican associates to the Obama 2012 website.

The effort could help the Obama campaign build a database that would enable it to target Republican voters during the general election campaign. But, more perniciously, it could also become part of an Democratic effort to influence Republican primary voters to select a candidate Democrats think Obama could most easily defeat.

The Democratic National Committee last month released a video that seemed designed to damage Mitt Romney, the GOP candidate feared most by the Obama campaign.

The Obama information collection effort is cast under the mischievous guise of asking Obama supporters to “have a little fun at the expense of a Republican in your life” by signing them up to get an email from the Obama campaign ribbing them for having “inspired” the Obama supporter to donate.

The result, however, is that the Obama campaign gets a new trove of Republican email addresses that it could never have collected through voluntary submissions.

This story pegs the creepy meter on so many levels.  First, it is almost Nazi like, asking people to turn in their friends.  This isn’t the first time the Obama regime has done something like this.

What is Obama going to do with those emails?  Human Events has one idea.

Who knows what Team Obama will do with its new crowd-sourced enemies list?  Their warehouse contains an endless supply of spam, as anyone unlucky enough to draw their attention can tell you.  As Keith Koffler of White House Dossier notes, the Obama campaign will end up with “a new trove of Republican email addresses that it could never have collected through voluntary submissions.”

But even if they do nothing except squirt out a single electronic taunt, is it really appropriate for the President of the United States to be targeting American citizens for holiday insults?  Would one of you Obama drones like to amuse us by feeding us some more crap about how this guy is a unifying, healing figure?

And of all the times he could have done this, did Obama really have to take a dump on the Christmas spirit of love and hope, by launching a mean-spirited propaganda campaign virtually guaranteed to end a few friendships?  This man could not understand America less if he had just tumbled out of a flying saucer yesterday.

Does anyone remember Operation Chaos from 2008?  Rush Limbaugh encouraged Republican voters to cross over and keep the Democratic Primary alive by voting for Hillary Clinton.   Could Obama be planning something similar for the GOP primary?

It is one thing for a private citizen to plan something like this, it is another for it to be the President of the United States.

No matter how you slice this, it is really creepy and as John Hayward over at Human Events said, this guy could not understand America even less if he fell out of a flying saucer.
