The Poisonous Presidency

By Alan Caruba via Canada Free Press

When the leaders of the United States, the President, his Vice President, his Secretary of State and others deliberately lie to its citizens, knowing full well that the facts about the tragic killing of an American ambassador and three of his staff are widely known, the nation has reached a point where it is paramount that he be removed from office.

The forthcoming election is the instrument and current indicators are that President Obama will be defeated. It is to be hoped that power in the Senate will be returned to the Republican Party and retainedl in the House of Representatives. This is the only way steps can be taken to avoid the financial collapse that faces the nation and achieve the repeal of Obamacare that Mitt Romney has promised if elected.

What worries me most, however, is the utter disdain for the truth that has marked the presidency of Barack Obama. It has been nearly four years of sustained lies about the steps that were taken to respond to the financial crisis facing the nation when he took office. The so-called “stimulus” wasted billions, becoming little more than a slush fund for Democratic fund-raisers, unions, and other connected parties to the administration. Instead the administration literally seized control of General Motors and Chrysler, then in the normal process of bankruptcy, claiming to save the jobs of auto workers. What they did was shunt aside the legitimate creditors and investors in GM. They arbitrarily discontinued its often long relationship with several hundred auto dealerships, adding their employees to the unemployment lines. They then insisted that GM invest millions in the creation of an electric car that cost $47,000 to purchase and ended up purchasing them for government use with taxpayer’s money.

Obamacare, more than 2,700 pages in length and incorporating more than twenty new taxes, was passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress with little evidence that any of those who voted for it had even read it. Arguing initially that he was not a tax, when challenged in the Supreme Court, the administration then said it was a tax. For some inexplicable reason, the Court permitted it to stand despite its clear over-ride of the Constitution’s Commerce Clause that forbids the government from requiring a citizen to purchase anything.

Under Obama, the foreign policy of the nation has now seriously weakened its position in the world and combined with cuts to defense spending, put its ability to protect the homeland and project power abroad at risk. The administration failed to negotiate an agreement with Iraq that would permit U.S. troops to remain in place, as they do at the invitation of many nations around the world, leaving Iraq vulnerable to al Qaeda. Setting a date for withdrawal from Afghanistan only emboldened the Taliban.

The so-called Arab Spring has mutated, not into the establishment of democratic institutions in nations like Egypt or Libya, but an opportunity for the Muslim Brotherhood to at least ascend to positions of power in opposition to America’s interests in the Middle East and Northern Africa.

We now know that President Obama skipped some sixty percent of the daily CIA briefings that presidents long have made a part of their duties and this no doubt led to its ignorance of the impending tragedy in Libya, but the fault lies, too, with the State Department that ignored the slain ambassador’s pleas for increased security for the embassy and consulate. This is a president who has been missing in action as the Islamic jihad began to heat up across the face of the globe.

The hostility of President Obama’s administration to the vital energy sector of the nation has denied access to oil extraction on the vast acreage of federal lands. It has denied permits for offshore drilling to a far larger degree than previous administrations. It has mercilessly attacked the coal industry, responsible for nearly fifty percent of all electricity generation in the nation. Plants for electricity have closed down under the pressure of costly EPA regulations. Only the natural gas sector has grown, thanks to the technology of fracking, but both oil and gas is being extracted mostly on private land.

Five reasons Barack Obama should not be re-elected as President!

Janet Porter is a former Romney critic who now endorses Governor Romney for President.  She gives some very compelling reasons for her conversion.  In the past few weeks I have met several concerned voters who are switching sides this election season.  The other day I was working at our local Romney Victory Headquarters and a woman came in and asked for a Voter Registration application.  She is 51 years old and has never voted before but, like many other concerned citizens, feels this election is too important to be passive.  I am so proud of those who are putting their country before their parties and realizing the financial and security dangers we face.

Ms. Porter discusses the Obama administration’s record on life, marriage, Israel, freedom and most importantly, America:

Please do your part in getting out the word and the vote – your country and freedom depends on it!

ALLEN WEST: Black Americans should vote for Mitt Romney

Illustration Obama Crushes by Alexander Hunter for The Washington Times

I am always amazed when Black Americans vote Democrat because ‘they have always been Democrats’.  Why?  Wasn’t Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. a Republican?  I applaud the growing number of Black Conservatives and the values they represent.  For another take on this mindset please read the following article by Rep. Allen B. West via The Washington Times.  He considers Obama’s hand-outs a form of slavery.

America is no doubt the greatest country the world has ever known. Our citizens have the opportunity to be anything they want to be, worship as they please and live as they please. We are truly free.

Still, Americans are suffering. They have lost their jobs, they have lost their home, and in many situations, they have lost hope.

For the black community, the situation is even more dire.

Black unemployment hovers around 14 percent, compared to 8 percent unemployment overall. For black teenagers, the number more than doubles, as 38 percent of black teens are unemployed.

It is not just the undereducated black Americans who are suffering — 6.6 percent of black Americans with at least a bachelor’s degree are unemployed, a rate 50 percent higher than the overall unemployment rate for those with a four-year college degree.

Since 2007, black median household income has declined by 11 percent — the largest decline of all major racial and ethnic groups.

In 2011, the poverty rate among black Americans was 27.5 percent. The poverty rate among blacks living in families headed by women is 41 percent.

President Obama’s programs continue to pour billions into black communities across the country in hopes of curing well-documented socioeconomic problems, including failing schools and inadequate housing, rampant crime and drug abuse, black-on-black killings, unemployment and more. Still, despite the courageous efforts of many local institutions, agencies, school leaders, grass-roots organizations and community residents, the problems remain, and in many places have become worse.

It will take new ideas and new voices to find solutions. It will take a president who is committed to policies of economic freedom as opposed to economic dependency. Mitt Romney’s belief in basic conservative principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual industry leading to self-sufficiency and his beliefs about equality of opportunity will revitalize the black community. Mr. Romney’s policies would enable urban people to empower themselves and, ultimately, become self-sufficient.

When it comes to education, black children are 17 percent of students nationwide, but they are 42 percent of the students in our worst-performing schools. Mr. Romney supports empowering parents of at-risk students in the inner cities to escape failing schools by allowing federal dollars to follow children to the school of their choice.

Many black-owned businesses struggle to gain access to capital that would enable expansion or fund operating costs. Sixty percent of startups are in the white community. Compare that with just 9 percent of startups coming from the black community.

Mr. Romney will reform regulatory policies that can help black-owned businesses increase and thrive. He will reform Dodd-Frank and allow more money to be accessible to responsible black community banks so they can get money into the hands of responsible black entrepreneurs. Lower capital gains taxes and dividends also will incentivize growth in the black community.

Mr. Romney also plans to revisit the concept of urban economic zones, an idea from the late congressman and HUD Secretary Jack Kemp and Reagan economist Art Laffer. Enterprise zones are geographic areas of high unemployment that qualify for special tax breaks.

What Mr. Romney understands is that communities are best served when they’re empowered to care for themselves. The more they come to rely on government checks, the less they learn to rely on their own ability and ingenuity. As my mother always told me, “Self-esteem comes from doing estimable things.”

Conversely, Mr. Obama’s appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today and does not promote economic freedom.

Still, it is easier to convince people that government should be doing something for them that it currently isn’t doing than to convince them that government shouldn’t be doing something for them that it currently is.

More than 95 percent of black voters voted Democratic in the last election. I am hoping we can change this status quo. When you invest your money, you diversify. You don’t put it in one single account. Black Americans need to invest their political capital so they have a voice across the entire political spectrum. If we don’t, the black community will be taken for granted and risk becoming politically irrelevant.

A recent poll showed the percentage of black Americans who have a “strongly positive” view of Mr. Obama has slipped from 83 percent to 58 percent. Those numbers show black Americans are paying attention, and they don’t like what they see.

I grew up in inner-city Atlanta, and I can tell you the most conservative people I know are my neighbors in the black community. It isn’t just in Atlanta. Thirty-three percent of Americans in the black community self-identify as conservatives. They are anti-abortion, and they believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Black Americans need to vote their values in November, and they will find themselves more aligned with Mr. Romney and the Republican Party. It is time for the “Party of Lincoln” to re-connect with black America.

Ex-Dem and Obama Backer Artur Davis Wows the Convention – And is at the RIGHT One This Time!

Artur Davis, an ex-Democrat and Obama backer, wows the crowd at the Republican National Convention.  A former Democratic Congressman from Alabama and now living in Virginia, Davis admitted he ‘got it wrong’ in 2008 and said we ‘have a country we need to turn around’!

He has blasted Obama for gutting the Welfare Reform Bill, but please don’t tell Chrissy Hissy Matthews – he will call Davis a racist!

‘2016: Obama’s America’ and ‘The Hope and The Change’ – Must See Documentaries for ALL Voters!

Many voters are uninformed – either by choice or circumstance.  If it is by choice, I respectfully request they listen this time!!!  Most Americans never knew the real Barack Obama (Barry Sotero) and voted for a pig in a poke…..much to their dismay.  The following two documentaries explain who Obama really is and the reason for his ideology – and why some of those who voted for him finally see through the smoke and mirrors of his 2008 campaign.

I urge you to see 2016: Obama’s America - 2016 Obama’s America takes audiences on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the worlds most powerful office to reveal the struggle of whether one man’s past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, “If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?”   Contrary to what the MSM is reporting, it is not an anti-Obama film. It is one of facts – from his birth in Hawaii, his life in Indonesia, and the people who helped shape his life.  It also helps to explain the reasons for his decisions and his vision of what he thinks America should be.

And The Hope And The Change – The surprising personal journeys of 40 Democrats and Independents from across America who supported Obama in 2008.  I was impressed with some of those interviewed by Sean Hannity.  Most are middle-class who were raised in predominately Democratic voting households and now wonder why they continue to do so.  One gentleman is Independent because his father was Republican and his mother was Democrat.  Another is an African-American minister who was raised to vote along strict party lines.  At least one is currently unemployed, one lost her home, and many others are struggling with day-to-day living.  They bought the ‘Hope and Change’ hype and are still waiting for it.

We only have one more shot to save our country and be able to once again say ‘God Bless America’!  Be informed and get involved – America needs you!

NAACP Emanuel Cleaver – You Should Be Fighting Racism Not Perpetuating It!

Great article and video by Kira Davis on Mitt Romney’s recent attendance at NAACP meeting in Houston.  Imagine, Romney spoke to a group of AMERICANS, not a group of Blacks.  Funny, Obama was conspicuously absent.  BTW Romney received a standing ovation after his speech – a small detail the MSM failed to report!  (H/T Bill Norwood)

By Kira Davis

“I don’t know who’s advising Gov.Romney from the African America perspective but I would give him an F- on talking about Obamacare in terms of repealing it, not to this audience….he should never have gone there in the first place.”

Rep Emmanuel Cleaver said this on MSNBC today (it doesn’t matter who the reporter was; I’ve decided to treat MSNBC like they treat Blacks as a monolithic group of lemmings with no individual opinions or personalities). He was referring to Romney’s visit to the NAACP. Now, I know I should really stop being shocked to hear our black Democrat “leaders” talk like this, but sometimes I just can’t help myself.

Cleaver wonders aloud who is advising Gov. Romney from the African American perspective. I wasn’t aware that white people needed to be “advised” before they addressed black people. Heaven forbid Romney actually just look at these people as….Americans! Mon Dieu! You mean to tell me this man actually went into a room full of black people and was honest about his opinions and intentions?

Cleaver also gives Romney an F- for criticizing Obama’s policy to “this audience”.  ”This audience”?  Are they anything like “those people”? Just checking. Because I thought the NAACP was committed to fighting racism, not perpetuating it by suggesting that we blacks are only able to comprehend certain messages and not able to make decisions for ourselves about what we do and do not agree with.

Romney deserves respect for wading in where he knew he would not be wanted. Black liberals complain all the time that conservatives and Republicans don’t engage them enough in the political realm, and then when they do go directly into our communities to debate and conversate they’re treated like crap. Then liberals wonder all over again why those nasty, racist Republicans don’t have the stones to bring their message into our communities. Well, Mr. Cleaver – here’s a man with stones. He came to speak, not pander. I know you and your ilk at the Black Caucus and NAACP have made pandering an art, but you should at least have a little respect for a man who  is willing to be honest about his views and not temper those views simply based on the color of the people he is addressing.

You should be embarrassed. I would be embarrassed for you, except that this diarrhea of the mouth you so often suffer from is a goldmine for bloggers like me, and only makes the argument for our side of the political spectrum that much stronger. So spew away. New media will be here to pick up every word.

And no, this message was not approved by the NAACP. Racism!

Sen. John Cornyn Calls on Holder to Resign ‎Over Fast and Furious – What Took so Long?!?

Via Newsmax

Sen. John Cornyn of Texas today joined a growing chorus of fellow Republican lawmakers calling for the resignation of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder over his handling of probes into a federal gun investigation and leaks of classified information.

Cornyn, a Texas Republican, called for the attorney general’s resignation at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where Holder was testifying. Cornyn follows dozens of House Republicans — 115 signing a “no-confidence” resolution — and at least three other senators in calling for Holder to quit.

“We’re all unhappy with the performance of the attorney general,” said Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate Republican leader, who stopped short of also calling for Holder’s departure. Cornyn “speaks for a lot” of Republicans frustrated with the Justice Department, he said.

President Barack Obama has voiced “complete confidence” in Holder, who has committed to serve through the remainder of Obama’s term in January. In an election year fraught with partisan conflicts on Capitol Hill, Obama’s attorney general has provided a ready target for Republicans.

“You’ve violated the public trust, in my view, by failing and refusing to perform the duties of your office,” Cornyn told Holder at the hearing. “It’s more sorrow than regret than anger that I would say that you leave me no alternative but to join those that call upon you to resign your office.”

Holder told lawmakers that he acted appropriately and doesn’t have “any intention of resigning.”

Holder, a target of Republicans since soon after taking office in February 2009, is facing a contempt vote in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on June 20. The panel has demanded documents related to Fast and Furious, a law enforcement operation that allowed illegal U.S. weapons purchases to wind up at crime scenes in Mexico. Holder has said the tactics were “misguided” and wouldn’t be used again.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters today that more than 7,000 pages of documents were given to Congress and the attacks on Holder are “nothing more than politics.”

“I have complete confidence in Attorney General Holder,” Obama said on Oct. 6, praising him for “how he handles his office. He has been very aggressive in going after gun running and cash transactions that are going to international drug cartels in Mexico.”

Republicans have mounted their own election-year campaign. Representative Paul Gosar, an Arizona Republican, has the signatures of 115 House members on a “no-confidence” resolution on Holder. “It is long past time for Eric Holder to be held accountable for his failures as the attorney general,” Gosar said in a statement issued April 27.

“The Daily Caller,” an online publication, reports finding 129 House members calling for Holder’s resignation.

Cornyn circulated today a YouTube video of his committee statement on his Twitter account and later advised his Twitter followers: “Will be on Fox News in a few minutes to discuss my call for AG Holder to resign.”

“You won’t support a truly independent investigation,” Cornyn said.

Holder said he has “great faith” in two U.S. attorneys he named to lead investigations into leaks of classified information. Holder rejected Republican lawmakers’ calls for the appointment of an independent special prosecutor.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said Republican calls to appoint a special prosecutor would slow the probe of the leaks.

“This whole episode in the last few days by my Republican friends has been a strictly partisan, insincere attempt to embarrass the president,” Reid told reporters today.
