Is Israel about to take back the Sinai? Troop movement renews Sinai reoccupation buzz.

Troop movement renews Sinai reoccupation buzz – Oil, natural gas fields ripe for takeover that also would undermine terror attacks.

WASHINGTON – The reported call-up by the Israeli Defense Forces of six battalions of reservists to be assigned mostly along the 150-mile border with Egypt facing the Sinai Peninsula has renewed buzz that Israel is planning to reoccupy the region, according to a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

The move underscores not only concern by Tel Aviv of heightened terrorist attacks launched from the deserts there, but also the possibility of a  remedy, at least temporarily, to the growing energy crisis that has emerged following Egypt’s cancellation of the contract that brought natural gas into Israel.

The gas, which met some 40 percent of Israel’s energy requirements, flowed through a pipeline that has been sabotaged some 14 times since the fall of President Hosni Mubarak last year.

The interim governing Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, or SCAF, then decided to pull back Egyptian troops from that frontier, and Israelis say now it is showing increased al-Qaida and Bedouin tribe violence.

In addition, Israeli officials say that Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip are using the Sinai to launch attacks into Israel.

In announcing the call-up of six battalions of reserves, the Israeli Knesset, or parliament, reportedly authorized the IDF to mobilize another 16 reserve battalions, if needed.  Some of the battalions already called up also will be positioned along the border with Syria, addressing the increasing unrest there.

Sources say a number of developments are triggering the call-up, which include implementing a 2008 Reserve Duty Law in which combat soldiers are called for active reserve duty once every three years.

While the immediate reason given for the call-up was due to tensions between Israel and Egypt and continued unrest in Syria, another reason for the troop positioning could be to deal with any attack that could occur from Syria, Lebanon and the Sinai should the Israeli government decide to launch an attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Syria and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, along with the Hamas from the Gaza Strip, have vowed to come to Iran’s assistance in the event its nuclear facilities are attacked.

The Sinai poses a particularly vexing problem for the Israelis, since law enforcement in that region had been left up to the Egyptians since the signing of the 1979 peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.  Israel had been occupying the Sinai since the 1967 war.   Israel withdrew from the Sinai in 1982.

However, with the Egyptian government itself now in chaos, the Egyptians have not maintained order, allowing terror threats to surge.

Last August, for example, eight Israelis were killed and 25 were wounded.  There remains a number of Israelis who have settled in the Sinai and whose lives now may be threatened.

This development has posed an increasingly serious security issue for Israel, which now must position the troops along the border with the Sinai in an effort to minimize attacks on Israel itself.

Declare the Muslim Brotherhood A Terrorist Organization

The Obama Administration has resisted naming the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. But if any group deserved to be on that list, the Brotherhood does. Ever since 1962, it has worked to convert Americans to jihad and Islamist extremism. It is actively building terrorist cells in the United States.

And the evidence is that it is succeeding. More and more of the terrorist attacks on American soil are coming from people who live here, many of whom converted to Islam through the work of the Brotherhood.

Since 9-11, 156 men have been indicted for terror-related activities. 127 of them had lived in the U.S. for ten years or more at the time of their arrest. One-third of these terrorists converted to Islam in their teens or twenties, most often through the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Inclusion on the list of terrorist organizations is no symbolic step. The feds block donations to such groups and deny them access to all sorts of financial, administrative, and other aids.

Internationally, of course, the Muslim Brotherhood is working zealously to replace the secular liberalism of the Arab Spring with hard-core, Shariah-compliant, theocratic dictatorships. Suppressing women, eliminating free speech, persecuting Christians, and preaching hatred of Jews, Israel, and America, the Brotherhood is gradually taking over the Middle East as first dictators and now monarchs fall from power.

To fight an enemy, you need to name it as your adversary and that is why including the Muslim Brotherhood on the list of terrorist groups is so important.

Legislation is pending in Congress to require the State Department to include the group on their terrorist list. With your help, we have a good chance of passing this important legislation.

For more information about the Muslim Brotherhood and to enlist in the battle to contain it, go to Citizens for National Security (www.cfns.us), a group struggling to “out” the Brotherhood.  They the the leading group advocating inclusion of the Muslim Brotherhood on the terrorist list.

Obama staff to participate in Congressional hearings on homegrown terrorists.

By Jim Kouri

Spc. Abdo (U.S. Army) is a perfect  example of a radicalized American Muslim.

The Obama national security team has indicated yesterday  that it will participate in a congressional probe into  alleged threats posed by “homegrown” Islamic terrorists against military  installations at home and abroad.

At first it wasn’t known if President Barack Obama would try to appease  critics such as CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and other groups  that are against such investigations. However, with incidents occurring  throughout the U.S. involving homegrown radical Islamists, Obama’s  re-election campaign staff believe it’s best to cooperate with such  probes.

The House Committee on Homeland Security web page states that the  White House will supply official witnesses for a December 7 hearing on “The  threat to military communities inside the United States.”

The committee chairman, Rep. Peter King (R-NY), had led hearings earlier this  year on domestic Islamic radicalization, but at first King and others came  underfire by Muslim groups, the radical left and some Democrat lawmakers.

However, since the first session of the House investigation, there have  been several incidents involving American citizens who’ve become radicalized and  plotted terror attacks with members of al-Qaeda, Al Shabaab and other  groups.

The administration’s apparent decision to take part in the  hearings might cause some criticism from American Muslims and civil  liberties groups, but polls have shown widespread support by the American  people.

The December 7 hearing, which will be held jointly with the Senate’s  Homeland Security Committee, chaired by Independent Joseph Lieberman, is the  latest in a series hearings launched by King into alleged efforts by Islamic  militants to recruit and radicalize American citizens within the United States  including members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Originally the Obama White House refused to participate in the  King-led hearings and did not send witnesses to the earlier King  hearings. Some Democrats on King’s committee also limited their  participation.

But on Friday the web site of King’s committee published a witness list for  the December 7 hearing that included the names of Paul Stockton, an Assistant  Secretary Defense for Homeland Security, and Jim Stuteville, a senior U.S. Army  Advisor for counter-intelligence and liaison to the FBI.

Also listed as a witness is Lt. Col. Reid Sawyer, director of a  counter-terrorism research center the U.S. military academy at West Point.

This time around, the lawmakers will address cases such  as Ft. Hood, Texas, attack in which an Army Psychiatrist Major Nidal  Hasan, a Muslim, shot dead 13 people, and the recent arrest of Naser Jason  Abdo, a Muslim U.S. Army specialist who allegedly plotted another attack  against Ft. Hood.

King’s previous hearings had sought to highlight alleged Islamic  radicalization efforts in U.S. prisons and activities inside the United States  of al-Shabaab, an al Qaeda affiliate based in Somalia.
